Spike Video Game Awards 2009 are coming and it’s time to vote! I’m a HUGE fan of Osmos, another IGF grand prize-nominee and generally-kick ass game. Hopefully by now you’ve played it.

Visit the Spike VGA Official Site and cast your vote for Osmos as Indie Game of the Year!. Good lucky Eddy!

It’s time for another lecture from Professor Lemeza Kosugi. This time we’re getting a double-feature with the 4th and 5th lectures.

The 4th lecture deals with the La-Mulana ruins and the origin of man. The prof tells us, “I’ve found human bones in the mountains during my investigation. I’m sure you won’t believe me even if I tell you this, but there are monsters. Yes, monsters that you see in game exist in real life and attack me.”

That’s just but a short excerpt from the lecture. You can read the Complete 4th Lecture at the Official La-Mulana Website.

The 5th lecture from Professor Kosugi provides details on the Gate of Guidance and its mysteries, “This is the room at the entrance of the Gate of Guidance, If you are somewhat familiar with the ancient civilization, you can see the beauty and, at the same time, feel the incongruity.”

Read the Complete 5th Lecture at the Official La-Mulana Website. Do it now!

Garrett Hanna and his friend “Dave” put together an amazing piece of fan art featuring our hero blasting Balrog (his friend “Dave” didn’t help create this one, but instead made his own which isn’t available online, sorry). It’s really great, especially when you consider it was done in approximately one-hour as a speed painting. You’re probably going to start to see fantastic renderings in the near future.

We’ll have an update on Cave Story and its status next week. The game was resubmitted on Friday. Time to go play some La-Mulana on the Wii.

From the La-Mulana Blog: This is not the trailer movie.

I wanted to eliminate everyone’s skepticism so I uploaded something that’s running, even though some parts that are not complete and still placeholder.

I’m sorry if your doubt increase from looking at the incomplete parts, but remember we’re still working on the game.

Be sure to visit the La-Mulana Blog. Naramura-san does a good job of reminding everyone that this video is work-in-progress. The game has a long way to go. Please keep that in mind when you take a look. Leave comments directly on the the post, Motion of La-Mulana

I fixed another issue in the special property. I’ve also made major graphical improvements to a large number of the areas.

And level tweaks and improvements. Two new Appendix levels.

Small changes to the level format (Chain= was replaced by Chain Snd= and now links to a chain sound file). I don’t think this will affect Mike’s NG-Native.

I’ve added more levels to the ******** world! They are quite ****** and ****. I have finished improving the difficulty of a few ‘Normal’ worlds, too.

No changes was made to the engine or level format. The Snow world is working great. In this version, I’ve improved many of
the game’s levels in many aspects. The Normal mode is in some cases a lot easier.

I’ve also started working on a world named ****** **********, which would be great as ****** ***** that you can play as a re***d for ********* **** ****. The ****** ******* are all crazy and don’t **** **** the **** of *** ******* at all. I thought that it would make a nice contrast and ******** :)

The 13th level support is finally added to Night Game. Now Ara can add his levels to the game properly! Some levels have been added to the Appendix too, I was thinking that they could be used for the credits!

The Col Snd=!REG thing was removed from the level format and all levels, it’s not really needed for anything.
