What is his involvement?
Pixel, or Daisuke Amaya, is responsible for Cave Story and we wouldn’t dare make a WiiWare version without his direct involvement in the whole process. He’s as involved with the WiiWare version of Cave Story as anyone else on the development team.

Who the heck is Nicalis?
We’re us, and we make games. But this FAQ isn’t about us.

Where’d the name come from?
It means nothing yet it means nothing. We wanted a name that was quasi-universal and didn’t require translation to understand.

You’ve change the graphics, I want the old artwork.
How 8-bit of you, go ahead. The final version of Cave Story on WiiWare will feature a switch that will allow you to choose the old graphics.

Oh yeah, I want the old music, too.
You’re quite the picky one. Yes, you can have your cake and eat it, too. The original audio will also be included and that too will feature a switch.You can even mix-and-match.

I’m fine with new music, but I saw a video from thee October 3rd, Nintendo event. Is that really what the music is going to sound like?
No, silly. That was work-in-progress–that means we’re still working on it.

Back to that artwork, did you run that by Pixel?
Pixel is directly responsible for the new artwork you see on the main character and all the major characters. Anything he doesn’t directly touch is shown to him and we get his yea or nay. This includes artwork, music and “other stuff”. So, yeah, he puts his magic touch on everything.

I’ve played the PC version and enjoy the script. Do you plan on changing it?
Be patient, we’ll make an announcement sooner than later.

When is the game coming out?
When it’s ready–we’re trying to get the bonus content ready.
