You are one of my major influences in all that I do. Your game is what brought me into the world of all that’s indie. Anything else I say will just sound cliche, so have a happy birthday, and hopefully many more to come. Thank you for everything you’ve done.

Happy Birthday Amaya-san!! What you’ve done for the gaming world through Cave Story is absolutely incredible, and thinking that you originally did it all on your own just seems mind-boggling. I can’t wait for the Wiiware release as I’ve always wanted to give money and all my support to you for bringing this wonderful gem of a game into my life, and I’m so happy I am finally getting close to being able to do so. Omedetou Otanjou-bi Gozaimasu, Pixel-dono! I just have to say sir that Cave Story is possibly the best game I’ve played in the last five years. You should be proud of yourself. This music is phenomenal and if you ever get involved in another game please make music designer your top priority. You are amazing for creating Cave Story. I respect everything you do and I fight for my own work to even be comparable to your own. If I ever succeed at anything game-related, I’ll have you to thank. You’ve created an amazing world full of lovable characters that stick in your mind and never leave. I have been a huge fan of Doukutsu Monogatari since the very day Aeon Genesis released an English translation for it. It immediately became the bar with which I judge other independant games. It holds a special place in my heart with its magnificent mix of retro-style visuals, wonderful soundtrack, tight controls, and well-balanced difficulty. And I can proudly say that I’ve made it through Hell.
